Tisa Nexus: autonomous agent for source-to-pay in Business Central

The cycle that runs from the purchase request to payment —the so-called source-to-pay— remains one of the most time-consuming processes in any SME. Requesting quotes, comparing them, placing the order with the supplier, waiting for receipt and, in the end, reconciling the invoice with the delivery note. Lots of email, lots of open tabs and lots of repetitive tasks that rarely add value, but that cannot go wrong. Tisa Nexus was born to change that picture: an autonomous AI agent, developed by Tisa Internacional, capable of working directly on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

In this article we tell you what Tisa Nexus is, how it tackles source-to-pay and why an agentic approach is different from the traditional automation you already knew.

What Tisa Nexus is

Tisa Nexus is an AI agent —not an assistant that only answers questions— that executes multi-step tasks on its own. The difference is important: an assistant suggests what to do; an agent does it. Nexus has memory, manages its own tasks, works with data tables, communicates by email and integrates with the suppliers that allow it through their websites or their APIs.

On Business Central, Tisa Nexus connects through the ERP’s own web services. That means it does not replace your system nor force you to change platform: it relies on the Business Central you already use and operates on it, reading and writing the information where it has to be.

How it reinvents source-to-pay

The value of Tisa Nexus is best seen by going through the purchasing cycle step by step. This is what the agent is capable of doing:

Comparing quotes

Nexus communicates by email with suppliers and integrates with their websites to request and gather quotes. Once it has them, it compares them with one another using the criteria you define, so that the decision arrives already digested instead of having to chase responses by email for days.

Placing the order

With the chosen option, the agent places the order with the corresponding supplier. The management no longer depends on someone finding the gap to send the email or fill in the form: Nexus itself handles the procedure.

Receiving and recording the invoice

When the documentation arrives, Tisa Nexus receives the invoice and records it in Business Central. The matching and the entry stop being a manual task prone to transcription errors, and the information ends up where the rest of the company needs it: inside the ERP.

The result is a process that moves forward on its own from start to finish, while your team takes care of what really requires judgment: negotiating, deciding strategic suppliers or managing incidents.

Autonomous, but with a person in the loop

Here is the key to the Tisa Nexus approach, and it’s worth being honest. An agent that buys and records invoices on its own is very powerful, but it also demands trust. That is why Tisa Internacional’s approach is gradual.

At first, Nexus works with a human in the loop: the agent executes and a person verifies that everything works correctly. As that trust settles, the degree of autonomy can grow a lot, and even thresholds can be set —for example, by amount— above which an operation requires validation from a person and below which it is resolved on its own.

Tisa Nexus can come to be automated at a very high level. Even so, our recommendation is to always keep a minimum review: AI speeds up the work, but supervision is what guarantees that business decisions remain the right ones.

What makes Tisa Nexus different from the automation of always

You may wonder how this differs from a conventional automated flow. The answer lies in what makes Nexus agentic:

  • It executes tasks, not just triggers fixed rules: it acts in the face of new situations.
  • It has memory, so the context of one interaction is not lost in the next.
  • It integrates with email, the real channel through which suppliers and quotes move.
  • It manages internal tables and its own tasks, organizing multi-step work.
  • It connects via API with the suppliers that offer that possibility.
  • It can work on its own, without the need for someone to guide it at every step.

Traditional automation follows a rigid script: if A happens, do B. An agent like Tisa Nexus interprets the context, decides and chains actions to reach a goal. That is the difference between digitizing a task and delegating a process.

In pilot phase: why it matters

Tisa Nexus is currently in pilot/beta phase. We tell it without embellishment because it is part of how we work at Tisa: we prefer to accompany each company in a controlled rollout, with supervision and joint learning, rather than promise total autonomy from day one.

This stage is, moreover, an opportunity. The companies that join now help shape the agent around their own purchasing processes and are the first to take advantage of what AI applied to the ERP can offer when it is built with business judgment.

Take the step with a partner that knows your ERP

Tisa Nexus is Tisa Internacional’s bet to bring agentic AI to the heart of management: the ERP. We do it from what we are —Microsoft Partner and ISV with decades implementing Business Central in sectors such as retail, distribution, construction, industry or services— and with a fixed idea: technology has to translate into fewer errors, more visibility and processes that scale without driving up costs.
